New buildings are under construction

The  new  three  storied  building  is  under  construction. The  work  of  the  building is almost finished. Construction  work  is  being  continued  under  observation  of  concerned  people.

The  repair of the main hall is also  almost  finished . And  the  administration  building is  also under  construction now.

Dancing Champs

Elapatha M.V. shone  in  All Island  Dancing  competition  held  recently  in  Mathara.

Students  participated  in  three  catogries. Two  items , Savaran  Dance  and  solo  drum  beating  placed  2 nd  and  3rd  places  respectively.

The  other  item  represented  was "Angkeliya Dance."

The  dancing  teacher  Mrs. Mala  Jayalath  took  great  pain  in  training students  for  the  events.

Teachers  of   easthetic  ,Mrs. Thushari  Jayalath  and  Mr. Percy  Jayalath also  gave their  valuable  supports.

Felicitation For Teachers

Teachers  of Elapatha M.V. were  felicitated  on  the  teachers' day. The  event  was  organized  by  the  Prefect  League  of  the  school.

Another  special  feature  was  two  past  pupils  who are    in  the  academic  staff  now  shared their  gratitude  to  the  teachers  who  taught  them.

This  event  was  followed  by  prefects  worshiping  teachers  by  offering  a  sheaf  of  beetel with  a  token  of  gratitude.

A warm welcome to new comers………

Grade  13  students  gave  a  warm  welcome  to new  students   of  grade 12. Not  only  that   but  they  held  a  workshop  to  repair  the   desks  and  chairs  for  the  new   comers.

According  to  the  project  headed  by  the  vice principal  Mr. U.K. Dayaratna  and  Mr. Ruwan  Senadheera   this  workshop  went  on.  With  the  support  of  two  parents  &  the  students  of  grade  13 , they  could  mend  about  100  desks  and  100  chairs.

Damsak Pewathum Suthra Deshana ………

R/Elapatha  M.V. joined  to  commemorate  2600  Sambuddha  Jayanthi   and  to mark   the Esala  Poya , by  chanting  The Damsak  Pewathum  Suthra   on 13th of  June.

Two  students  of Elapatha M.V. were  chanting  The  Damsak  Pewathum  Suthra   very  attractively. Chamara   and  Pethum   did  great  as  students    .The  Principal , teachers   and  specially  Mr. Priyantha Udaya Kumara  did  their  best  to  make this programme  live.
